Job brief:
We’re looking for a Senior Test Engineer who is passionate about delivering high-quality software and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. In this role, you’ll take ownership of quality across complex features and systems, designing robust test strategies and driving test automation initiatives. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that every release is stable, secure, and performs seamlessly for users across platforms.
This is a hands-on position that requires technical expertise, critical thinking, and a passion for problem-solving. If you're someone who enjoys diving deep into systems, mentoring others, and continually evolving testing processes, this role is for you.
The impact you'll make:
- Review and analyze system specifications. Understand the application function and underlying logic for complex features, subsystems, and APIs.
- Ensure user stories contain acceptance and performance requirements as appropriate.
- Develop and catalog effective strategies and test plans.
- Estimate test development and execution effort/schedule.
- Develop and execute automated UI, functional, security, regression, performance/load tests.
- Evaluate and document test results.
- Research new technologies, tools, and testing procedures to continuously improve processes.
- Help troubleshoot issues.
- Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Ability to prioritize work assignments to meet deadlines.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to junior QA team members.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you've accomplished:
- 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer or similar role.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies and processes.
- Experience with Agile frameworks and regression testing.
- Experience with automated testing and automated test frameworks.
- Experience with Java or other programming languages.
- Experience with key AWS technologies such as EC2, EKS, S3, and CloudWatch.
- Experience with various software testing platforms, including: API, web, and mobile application (iOS and Android), service, back-end, machine learning, and other technologies as appropriate.
- Experience with software troubleshooting tools, including the use of proxies to manipulate test data.
- Working knowledge of source code management software (e.g., GitHub).
- Experience with test infrastructure software and integrations with test frameworks.
- Ability to document and troubleshoot errors.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Curiosity, an analytical perspective, and problem-solving aptitude.
- Experience with Figma or similar tools.
- Experience with BrowserStack or similar.
Nice to have
- Working knowledge of test management software (e.g., TestRail).
- Working knowledge of issue management software (e.g., Jira).
- Experience with Jenkins or other automation pipelines and executing pipelines.
- Experience testing on a variety of operating systems, including Microsoft-based products.
