Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 11 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN Licensure required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Charge experience preferred - Patient ratio experience of 6:1 - Experience with charting systems, preferably Epic Description: UNIT DETAILS: Diagnoses include, but are not limited to, chest pain, hip/knee surgery, altered mental status, small bowel obstruction, urinary tract infection, respiratory distress, pancreatitis, pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, congestive heart failure, sepsis, acute kidney injury, encephalopathy, ascites, Covid, and anemia. WEEKEND: Every other weekend required. CALL: None. FLOATING: Required within facility/scope of practice as needed. The unit accepts first-time travelers. COMPLIANCE: Full compliance is required to start on time. HOLIDAYS: If one major holiday falls within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both holidays. If three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Major holidays are Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day. STAFFING & SCHEDULING: Patient ratios during days and nights are 6:1. The traveler may be required to float within the facility/scope of practice as needed. PATIENT CARE DETAILS: Patient age groups served include adults and geriatrics. Daily census is approximately 26. INTERDISCIPLINARY SUPPORT: Support from physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary is available. SPECIAL PROCEDURES: Various patient diagnoses will be managed. Staff will be assisting in special procedures as required. SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: A range of specialized equipment will be utilized.
