Warehouse Cargo Agent

We are looking for an immediate long-term contract opening for a Warehouse Cargo Agent in Atlanta, GA for our client in a Cargo facility. We would like to add ambitious & detail-oriented individuals to perform faced paced warehouse cargo work, under supervision. The Warehouse Cargo Agent is responsible for moving and sorting small packages by hand and pushcart from containers inside the warehouse to semi-trucks, in an open air, uncontrolled temperature environment.

Responsibilities:

• Load and unload package containers, moving packages by hand and pushcart, to warehouse to truck.
• Build up package containers ready for outbound flights.
• Break down package containers from arriving flights.
• Remove tie-downs and other gear when loading and unloading.
• Sort, scan and move small packages within the warehouse.
• Operate package handling equipment such as pallet jacks and gaylords (push carts).
• Check air express containers for proper piece count, weight, dimensions and documents as appropriate per air safety and security guidelines.

Minimum Essential Functions:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Frequently moves cargo in the warehouse weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Needs to occasionally move about inside the warehouse and office to access cargo shipments and airwaybills.

Work Environment:

• Sometimes exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures.
• Occasionally work in extremely bright or dim lighting conditions.
• Workspaces may not be temperature-controlled.
• Work near/ share same workspace with others.
• Often work indoors but may sometimes work outdoors.

Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in similar role required
• Valid Driver’s license required • Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and holidays. Peak Season (November-December) may require longer hours
• Ability to read, write and understand the English language
• Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings, with and without, assistance of sight or visual aids

Shift hours:

Operation hours are-Monday to Sunday

1ST shift :10AM - 630pm OR 3RD shift: 10pm - 6:30am

Need to be flexible working different days or shift.

Pay Rate:  1st shift pays $17.50 an hour / 3rd shift pays $19.50 an hour
