Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide specialized care as an RN Stepdown nurse in an Emergency Room holding unit within a travel nursing role based in the Savannah, GA area. This position requires working with patients boarded in the ER who need progressive care unit (PCU) level support, including cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, and critical care conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to ER boarder patients requiring PCU-level monitoring and interventions.
• Interpret cardiac telemetry using Spacelabs monitors, document strips accurately in the patient chart.
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists who are available 24/7 to perform ABGs, breathing treatments, and manage ventilator equipment.
• Work alongside X-ray and CT techs for patient transport within the ER.
• Maintain Navy scrub dress code and comply with department-specific orientation and protocols.
• Participate in weekend shifts every other weekend and holiday shifts per department needs.
• Adhere strictly to a 100-mile radius travel rule to the Savannah area.

Qualifications:

• Active Georgia or Compact RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years recent PCU nursing experience OR at least 1 year PCU plus 1 year in Telemetry, ER or ICU.
• Successful completion of at least one previous travel nursing assignment.
• Recent professional references from travel assignments required.
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:4-5, adjusted based on acuity.
