JOB DESCRIPTION

Title : Massage Therapist

Reports to : Spa Director
Position Purpose
To provide massage and body treatments with professionalism and personalized service to all spa guests. Sincerely assessing needs and providing solutions to all guests in order to educate and promote their overall wellness.
Essential Functions

• Ensure outstanding guest service throughout the spa flow: from greeting the guest, to consultation, treatment and closing.
• Recommend products for home use
• Maintain an average retention ratio of 50%
• Perform all massage and body treatments on service menu based on current certifications
• Suggest to guests other beneficial treatments offered in the spa, lifestyle programs.
• Begin and end all treatments on time
• Ensure work areas are clean and equipment is disinfected according to procedures
• Create and maintain guest files and soap notes according to procedures
• Understand and use universal precautions when providing services.
• Assess guest health concerns that may prevent service from taking place
• Report all guest incidents and complaints to team leader
• Ensure that company policies and procedures outlined in employee manual are followed
• Participate in team meetings
• Handle laundry duties pertaining to your client load, assisting in ensuring all linens required for your job are laundered properly.
• Close rooms according to Spa standards.
• Arrive to work 30 minutes prior to first appointment, never leaving without notifying front desk.
• Adhere to the agreed upon schedule with management, requesting weekend blocks minimum 2 weeks out.
• Notify management prior to any bookings before blocking times.
• Ensure proper requisition procedures are being used to maintain proper par levels on back bars.
• Contact and communication regularly through phone calls and Thank you notes to clients.
• Keep current on all licensure and insurance and provide updated copies upon receipt
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements Trained and confident in all massage and body treatments

• Going up and down stairs while carrying anywhere from 2-5 pounds of laundry,

Energetic, enthusiastic, compassionate and a motivator

• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Efficient, well organized and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously
• Strong team player
• Must be comfortable with product recommendation
• Professional manner, discretion and appearance

Experience/Education Required Professional certification/licensure as required by state law

• Previous experience with spa services preferred
• Retail sales experience a plus
