Physician
The Atlanta, GA VA Medical Center is searching for BE/BC Family Practice/Internal Medicine Physician s to join their dynamic healthcare teams.
The openings are located at their Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) in Rome, GA. They also have openings in Carrollton, GA, Marietta, GA, Pickens, GA, Blairsville, GA, Pike, GA, and Newnan, GA.
The Primary Care physician works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating with other members of the team to provide medical care to veterans enrolled on the team. The physician is expected to demonstrate advanced competencies and skills in assessing the physical and psychological status of patients. He/ she will provide comprehensive patient assessment, health history, physical examination, and patient education to veterans in the Primary Care team setting. As a physician, you will provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill and injured veterans.
Our facility is seeking individuals who possess good organizational skills which enable completion of work, a demonstrated ability to assume leadership in a patient-centered program, and the ability to establish effective communication with patients, families, visitors and members of the interdisciplinary team.
The VA Healthcare System uses a comprehensive electronic medical record and is dedicated to providing primary medical care via a patient-centered medical home model. Physicians will be assigned a patient panel of 1000–1200 patients.
Work Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
Salary Range : 265K base salary (negotiable) per year with benefits
A recruitment/relocation incentive may be authorized for a highly qualified candidate.
Selected candidates may be eligible to apply for student loan repayment through the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). Participation is based on funds availability.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Citizenship : Citizen of the United States: (Noncitizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens)
Licensure: Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia
Education: Must have a degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Physical Standards: All applicants must meet the physical requirements established for this position
Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible
