Position: Process Engineering Intern

Location: Bethlehem PA

Job Summary

Minerals Technologies has an opening for a Process Engineering Intern in Bethlehem PA. The intern will help contribute to the optimization of manufacturing and production systems. This internship offers hands-on experience in process design data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Youll work closely with experienced engineers to solve real-world challenges and drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Support the design analysis and improvement of manufacturing processes
• Collect and interpret process data to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions
• Assist in developing process flow diagrams and standard operating procedures
• Participate in root case analysis and troubleshooting of production issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production quality and maintenance
• Ensure compliance with safety environmental and quality standards

OE/Lean

• Understands and/or actively participates in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes such as 5S Kaizen Daily Management Control Standard Work and Problem Solving.

Qualifications

Education:

The ideal candidate is currently seeking a degree in Chemical Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.

• Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in the English language with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated individual with excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Microsoft Office software and other standard software in an engineering and office environment.
• Strong computer literacy especially the creation and use of various spreadsheet tools for improved efficiency and productivity.
• Ability to read understand and generate engineering drawings and documents including P&IDs PFDs mass and energy balance equipment specifications process descriptions etc.

Work Hours: As agreed upon based on intern availability and business needs.

Safety Training:

An intern hired to perform the duties of this position is required to be provided New Employee Training by a qualified individual or through the online training system. Additionally an employee must be provided further training if a job duty/task has changes which will affect the health and safety aspects of the employees position.
