GIS Technician 3 - ATL
Genesis Technical is seeking a GIS Tech 3 for Atlanta, GA. 30309
This position is in-office 4 days a week and remote on Friday
RESPONSIBILITIES- Oversee GIS technical operations, ensuring optimal data management and visualization practices.
- Lead complex GIS projects, from data management to visualization. Mentor junior GIS technicians.
- Ensure alignment of technical activities with GIS strategies.
- Engage with stakeholders on GIS technical requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in GIS technical operations.
- Proficiency with linear referencing techniques and concepts is highly recommended
- Knowledge of the Utility and Pipeline Data model (UPDM) is highly recommended.
- Provides specialized queries, maps and reports to meet customer requirements/specifications
- Performs application testing and documentation of defects
- Interfaces with users; documents requested/needed changes
- Processes, prepares and converts data to enter into GIS from a variety of data formats
- Perform QA/QC on version data that pushes to the production environment
- Bachelor's degree in Geographical Information Systems or related field.
- 5 + Years of in-depth experience with GIS tools, databases, and methodologies
- Esri ArcGIS Pro – advanced proficiency
- Esri ArcGIS 10.2x – advanced proficiency
- Linear referencing - advanced proficiency
- MS Office suite- - advanced proficiency
- (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Esri ArcGIS Enterprise – intermediate proficiency
- Utility Network – intermediate proficiency
- Model Builder – intermediate proficiency
- Python – intermediate proficiency
