Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: State Nursing License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Patient ratio experience: 4-5 Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit. The nurse will work night shifts. The typical shift lasts 12 hours. Every other weekend shift is required. There is no on-call duty associated with this position. Floating within the facility may be necessary as needed. Full compliance is required prior to the start of the assignment. The nurse must be flexible with holidays and work requirements during the assignment period. If one major holiday falls within the assignment, the nurse is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall within the assignment, the nurse will be required to work both. For three major holidays, the nurse is expected to work two of them. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. The patient care environment consists of adults and geriatric populations. The daily census averages around 28 patients. The nurse will be part of an interdisciplinary support team. Patient diagnoses may vary, and special procedures can be part of daily responsibilities. Essential nursing skills include accessing and managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, and cardiac telemetry. The nurse will manage central lines, chest tubes, and care for patients pre and post various procedures. In addition, the nurse will perform duties related to dysrhythmias, oxygen administration, and wound care. This position requires a focus on high-quality patient care and teamwork. Candidates should demonstrate strong clinical skills, adaptability, and effective communication.
