Senior Director of Operations
DynamiX – an award-winning digital web design and marketing services company is seeking a Senior Director of Operations to drive and scale our overall business operations. This is a senior executive role reporting directly to the CEO and Executive Chairman, responsible for ensuring business efficiency and productivity across all departments. The Senior Director of Operations will align operational strategies with our company’s growth goals and optimize processes to drive performance and scalability. We need a dynamic, hands-on leader who can think strategically while staying involved in the details – someone not afraid to get their hands dirty and able to foster a direct, fun, and collaborative team culture as we continue to grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Daily Operations: Direct and coordinate day-to-day operations across all teams (Project Management, Design, Development, Finance, Customer Support) to ensure efficiency, high-quality service delivery, and cost-effective use of resources.
- Strategic Planning & Process Improvement: Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and processes that align with the company’s objectives and support scalable growth. Champion best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and improve productivity.
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop department managers and staff, building a high-performing team and a culture of accountability and achievement. Set performance objectives for teams and support them with guidance, training, and clear expectations.
- Financial Oversight: Manage operational budgets and forecasting, ensuring the company meets its financial targets and uses resources effectively. Oversee the Finance/Accounting function (in coordination with our finance team) to ensure accurate financial reporting and cash flow management.
- Human Resources Management: Oversee human resources and talent acquisition functions – including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and HR policy compliance to support team growth and maintain a positive, productive workplace.
- Quality Control & Risk Management: Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of service and deliverables. Identify any operational risks, bottlenecks, or inefficiencies and develop contingency plans or process improvements to address them proactively.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO and other leaders to translate high-level strategy into actionable operational plans. Collaborate with all departments to ensure operational execution meets client needs and company goals, and that feedback from these areas informs process improvements.
- Vendor and Partner Relations: Maintain strong relationships with key vendors, partners, and service providers as needed to improve service delivery and support business growth. Negotiate contracts and ensure external resources are managed efficiently in support of operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field is required. An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in operations management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Director/VP of Operations or similar). A proven track record of successfully scaling operations and improving processes in a growing company is essential. Experience in a services or marketing/digital agency environment is a plus.
- Leadership & People Skills: Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to manage and develop diverse teams to achieve outstanding results. Able to inspire and influence at all levels, build a cohesive team, and lead by example in a hands-on manner.
- Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, combined with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Ability to balance high-level strategic planning with attention to detail in execution.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Can clearly convey vision, updates, and expectations across the organization and to external stakeholders. Effective in change management and cross-department collaboration.
- Operational Expertise: Deep understanding of operational best practices and process optimization. Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies, and comfortable implementing KPIs/metrics to measure operational performance.
- Financial Acumen: Experience in developing and managing budgets, financial forecasts, and interpreting financial statements. Strong business acumen to ensure operational decisions are aligned with financial goals and overall strategy.
- Tech and Tools: Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, Slack) and familiarity with operational software or dashboards to track KPIs. General comfort with technology and the ability to learn new tools relevant to optimizing a digital business’s operations.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Highly organized, with the agility to handle evolving priorities and new challenges as the company scales. A proactive, hands-on approach to tackling problems and implementing solutions is a must.
Location & Compensation:
- Location: Kennesaw, Georgia – This role is on-site, Monday through Friday. The Senior Director of Operations is expected to be physically present 5 days a week in our Kennesaw office to lead the team and drive operations.
- Salary Range: Base salary for Senior Director of Operations the Kennesaw/Atlanta market will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to base salary, an annual performance bonus or profit-sharing incentive may be offered for achieving key targets.
- Benefits: DynamiX offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and other perks. We foster a direct, fun, and collaborative work environment with opportunities for professional growth as the company expands.
