Trademark Paralegal

We are seeking a detail-oriented Trademark Paralegal to support attorneys in all aspects of domestic and international trademark prosecution, portfolio management, enforcement, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have experience managing trademark filings, conducting searches, monitoring deadlines, and communicating with clients regarding trademark matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, file, and manage U.S. and international trademark applications, renewals, declarations, assignments, and other related filings.
• Monitor and maintain trademark dockets, ensuring all deadlines are accurately tracked and met.
• Assist attorneys with trademark prosecution matters before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• Conduct preliminary trademark clearance searches and analyze search results.
• Prepare and file responses to Office Actions and other correspondence under attorney supervision.
• Coordinate with foreign associates regarding international trademark filings and portfolio management.
• Manage trademark portfolios, including maintenance filings, renewals, ownership updates, and recordals.
• Draft cease-and-desist letters, consent agreements, assignments, and other trademark-related documents.
• Monitor trademark watch notices and identify potential infringement issues.
• Prepare status reports and portfolio summaries for clients.
• Maintain accurate electronic and physical trademark records.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding filing statuses, deadlines, and trademark strategy implementation.
• Assist with due diligence reviews for mergers, acquisitions, and corporate transactions involving intellectual property assets.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Paralegal certificate preferred.
• 3+ years of trademark paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. trademark prosecution procedures and USPTO requirements.
• Experience with trademark docketing software such as CPI, Anaqua, Patricia, FoundationIP, or similar systems.
• Familiarity with international trademark filings, including the World Intellectual Property Organization Madrid Protocol system.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously. xrczosw
