Role Overview

The Cash Application Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely posting of customer payments, deposits, and remittances. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity of financial records by applying cash receipts against customer accounts, reconciling discrepancies, and supporting overall processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Post daily customer payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards) accurately and in a timely manner.
• Process deposits and apply cash to customer accounts based on remittance advice.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies, unapplied cash, and unidentified receipts.
• Reconcile accounts and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Collections, Billing, and Customer Service) to resolve payment-related issues.
• Monitor and track remittances to ensure alignment with customer accounts.
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to cash applications.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls and company policies.
• Support ad hoc projects or process improvement initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/financial systems
• 1+ years of experience with NetSuite
• 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Cash Applications, or related financial operations role.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
