Linen Distribution Tech

Location: Atlanta, GA
Starting Pay: $16.00 per hour, 2pm-10:30am and 4pm-12:30am (days vary)

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks delivering clean linen and load soiled linens for return.
• Deliver and restock clean linen supplies to patient care units and other hospital departments.
• Monitor linen inventory levels throughout the facility, ensuring all patient care areas are stocked appropriately.
• Maintain accurate records of linen usage and report shortages or discrepancies.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols when handling soiled and clean linens.
• Collaborate with nursing and support staff to fulfill urgent linen requests.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the linen storage areas.
• Assist in the periodic inventory of linen supplies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in a hospital, laundry, or distribution environment preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Essential Functions

• Must be able to move, transport, and position carts and bags weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position and also move about the hospital to deliver and collect linens.
• Must be able to operate carts, hand trucks, and other equipment necessary for linen distribution.
• Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information with hospital staff.

Work Environment

• Often work indoors within a hospital setting, occasionally traveling between departments.
• Regularly exposed to equipment such as carts and sometimes to soiled linens or cleaning chemicals.
• Frequently required to wear protective gear such as gloves and masks.
• Occasionally exposed to sounds and noise levels that may be distracting or uncomfortable.
• Work near others and often share the same workspace.
