Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years as an ED RN License: Active RN License in Georgia Certifications: BLS, ACLS, BCR Must-Have: - Drip management skills for medications such as Heparin, Insulin, Cardene, Dopamine, Epinephrine, Fentanyl, Propofol, and Levophed - Phlebotomy skills - Experience with central telemetry monitoring Description: The Emergency Department seeks a Registered Nurse with experience in high-acuity patient care. The facility has 140 licensed beds and an average census of 85 patients per day. The department has 22 beds with additional surge capacity. Common diagnoses include chest pain, strokes, diabetes, abdominal pain, motor vehicle collisions, hypertension, and mental health issues. RN patient ratios are typically 1:3-4 depending on assigned zones. LPNs will have a ratio of 1:4, and there will be 2 CNAs per shift. The nursing team collaborates with intensivists, hospitalists, and telemetry techs, all available 24/7. The department uses EMR for patient documentation and various equipment, including IV pumps and cardiac telemetry monitors. Floating may occur within the emergency room.
