Task 1: Inspect all cans on table.

1. Make sure the conveyer belt is clear of all objects.

2. Turn machine on/off as needed.

Task Performance Standard – Conveyer should be clear of all objects. Be familiar with the start and stop buttons.

Task 2. Cans Code and Product Code.

1. Randomly check the can code on the bottom of the can.

2. Make sure the product code matches the label on the can.

3. Check the position and color of the can code.

Task Performance Standard – Can code should match the rider and the labels. Make sure the position and color of the can code is correct.

Task 3. Labels Steps 3 – 5 on the Work Description

1. Check for torn, folded, unglued, or loose labels.

2. Cans with bad labels inform label operator.

3. Tear off the bad label.

4. Place into the relabeling tub.

5. At the end of the code run the cans through the label machine again.

6. Check for damaged cans. (Place damaged cans in the defective can tub).

7. Report any can defects to supervisor or line leader.

8. Report all problems to supervisor.

9. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

10. Comply with Company policies and safety requirements.

Task Performance Standard – There should not be any torn, loose, misaligned labels, or any damaged cans exiting the shiner table. All cans should be clean and neat. Product can code should match to the rider. If you have any problems inform your supervisor or your line leader.

Task 1. Verifying product.

1. Check the product codes against the SKU Table.

2. Ensure the Carton has a bar code, Case Code and is showing a can code.

Task Performance Standard – Verify that all codes are correct on the can and on the cartons.

Task 2. Checking the shrink film on the cases.

1. Make sure the shrink film is not too tight nor to loose.

2. There should be no holes in the shrink.

3. Shrink film should be wrapped correctly around the cases. (Openings on the shorter ends of the cartons).

Task Performance Standard – Shrink film is very important, it keeps the cans secure until they arrive at there destination. Be sure to pay proper attention to the cases as they exit the tunnel.

Task 3. Stacking a pallet Steps 3 – 4

1 . Place a slip sheet on a pallet.

2. Check the cases as they come down the conveyer.

3. Take the cases off of the conveyer and place them on a pallet.

4. There will be 14 cases to a row.

5. The first two rows should be separated by divider sheets.

6. There will be 16 rows to a finished pallet.

Task Performance Standard – Make sure you know the difference between a slip sheet and a divider sheet. Your line leader will show you how a pallet needs to be stacked.

Task 4. Finished Product

1. Once you finish a pallet place a divider sheet on top of the full pallet.

2. Inform the Palletizer Tag Clerk that you have a full pallet.

3. Write down your total count and the pallet tag count sheet.

4. Your Palletizer Tag Clerk should place a Pallet Tag on the finished pallet.

5. The OCME will place either a green Q.C. Inspected Sticker on the pallet, or an orange HOLD Sticker on the pallet.

6. You will need to turn the pallet around so a forklift driver can pick up the pallet .

1.   Start working on a new pallet.
2. Report any can defects to supervisor or line leader.
3. Report all problems to supervisor.
4. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
5. Comply with Company policies and safety requirements.

Task Performance Standard – Do not let a forklift driver take away a pallet that does not have a pallet tag or an OCME sticker on it. Make sure you keep an accurate count of your pallets.
