Industrial Robotics Service & Calibration Specialist
Are you the go‑to troubleshooter everyone calls when automation stops?
If parsing schematics, dialing in sensors, and rescuing a stalled robot in a tight spot sounds like your perfect day, Symbotic’s new Jackson, GA site wants you.
Your Mission
- Become the on‑site expert across mechanical, PLC, electrical, and electronic subsystems powering automated adapters, vertical lifts, conveyors, and a fleet of robotic vehicles.
- Keep material moving—inspect, calibrate, repair, and modify systems to hit throughput targets and cases per hour.
- Respond to anomalies fast: use wiring diagrams, schematics, and advanced test gear to pinpoint issues.
- Execute inspections on schedule, document parts and labor thoroughly, and close work orders in the CMMS.
- Communicate clearly about production impacts and provide realistic time‑to‑repair estimates.
- Recover vehicles in the Symbotic Matrix select system—even in restrictive environments.
- Handle minor fabrication/utility work: machine holes/brackets, cut steel, align sensors, install Unistrut.
- Own robotic arm setup, calibration, troubleshooting, and tool changes.
- Champion 5S every shift; step into Cell Operator responsibilities when needed; take on other tasks assigned by leadership.
Growth & Schedule
- Launch with a Monday–Friday day shift.
- Transition to 24/7 operations with two 12‑hour teams:
- Team A: Sunday–Tuesday + alternating Wednesday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM or 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
- Team B: Thursday–Saturday + alternating Wednesday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM or 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
- We’re hiring those ready to start on days and pivot to either team when the site scales.
Do You Have What It Takes?
- Associate degree/cert in electronics, automotive, automation, or manufacturing—or equivalent experience (preferred).
- At least 3 years working with mechanical automation systems (or a strong educational equivalent).
- Advanced troubleshooting chops and fluency with electro‑mechanical diagrams.
- Comfort operating and running automated systems.
- PLC knowledge and troubleshooting experience.
- Proven inspection skills; able to work independently from procedures/manuals.
Work Conditions Reality Check
- Steep stairs, elevated railings, and heights reaching 45 feet.
- Confined areas down to 24 inches.
- Temperature swings from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.
- Construction phases require PPE: hard hat, safety vest, steel‑toe footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection, and fall protection (e.g., harness).
- Lift up to 50 lbs; move up to 80 lbs safely and efficiently.
- Stand/walk 10–12 hours; frequent reaching; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl as needed.
- Capable of feeling, seeing, hearing, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, balancing, gripping, climbing, crawling, sitting, handling objects, and repetitive movement using both hands and feet.
- Safety compliance is a must.
Strengths & Tech Stack
- Strengths: Mechanical troubleshooting; electrical troubleshooting and repair; working with 120/208/240/480 VAC power.
