Job Description
This role involves operating a sit-down forklift inside a warehouse environment to support production and material handling activities. You will safely move, load, and unload materials, maintain an organized work area, and help ensure efficient warehouse operations in a food-grade facility.
Responsibilities
- Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently inside the warehouse to move, load, and unload materials.
- Handle materials accurately to support production processes and maintain consistent material flow.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating forklifts and performing material handling tasks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with food-grade facility standards.
- Inspect forklift and related equipment before use and report any issues or concerns promptly.
- Support general warehouse and production activities as needed to meet operational goals.
- Follow work schedules and adapt to changes in work hours when necessary to meet business and customer needs.
- Participate in required training and testing to qualify for skill-based pay increases.
Essential Skills
- Experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse or production environment.
- Strong material handling skills, including safe loading, unloading, and staging of products.
- Ability to lift 41–70 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties.
- Ability to walk or stand for at least 5 hours during a shift.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and food-grade facility requirements.
- Willingness to work overtime on weekdays and possibly Saturdays when needed.
- Reliability and punctuality to support consistent warehouse and production operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience in a production or packaging environment.
- Comfort working in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse that may be hot or cold.
- Willingness to complete training and pass tests to qualify for progressive pay increases.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when handling materials and operating equipment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with warehouse and production staff.

Work Environment
This role is based in a food-grade warehouse and production facility on a first-shift schedule, typically Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Overtime may be required on weekdays and possibly Saturdays to meet operational needs. The facility is not temperature controlled, so conditions may be hot or cold depending on the season. You will operate a sit-down forklift and perform material handling tasks throughout the shift, including extended periods of walking or standing and lifting 41–70 pounds. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and includes adherence to strict hygiene and safety standards: no nail polish, no fake nails, and no jewelry while on the production floor. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and compliance with food-grade standards while supporting continuous training and skills development.
