Waldorf Astoria is looking for an Executive Chef to oversee this gorgeous Atlanta property!

Located in one of Atlanta's most prestigious neighborhoods, this 42-story tower has 127 rooms (plus 47 residences), over 10,000 square feet of meeting space, and 3 food and beverage outlets. This includes the 3-meal Brassica Restaurant, Bar, and In-Room Dining.

In this role, you will oversee all back-of-house food and beverage operations (culinary and stewarding) and reporting directly to the Director of Food & Beverage.

The ideal candidate will be an exceptional leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment with a talent for developing others and passion for creating unique dining experiences. At least 3 years of culinary management experience and a background in fine dining is required. Prior luxury hotel experience is highly preferred.

What will I be doing?

As Executive Chef, you would be responsible for directing and administering the planning, preparation, production and control of all culinary operations in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Direct and oversee all culinary operations, to include, but not limited to, production of all hotel meals, food quality and presentation, compliance with all safety and sanitation standards and regulations, team member productivity and performance, implementation of policies and procedures, cost controls and overall profitability
  • Create and implement new menus and individual menu items for outlets based on current food trends and regional tastes in partnership with Director of Food and Beverage
  • Interact with guests and clients to monitor and assess satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
  • Perform general management duties including, but not limited to, systems management, budget and forecasting, report generation, department management and meeting participation and facilitation
  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
  • Recruit, interview and train team members

What are we looking for?

Mandatory

  • Up to date ServSafe Manager or comparable sanitation certification
  • Extensive knowledge of kitchen equipment
  • Working knowledge of mathematics for recipes, ordering, and financial research purposes
  • Working knowledge of computers and MS office software
  • Ability to delegate responsibility, pay attention to detail, handle multiple tasks and show a high level of patience.
  • Excellent communication skills in all aspects: written, verbal and non-verbal.
  • Strong creativity
  • Quality driven with a passion for excellence.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and administrative skills, interpersonal skills and leadership skills.
  • Approachable, open-minded and fair
  • Flexible work hours to meet the demands of the operation.
