Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the efficiency and success of surgical interventions by delivering precise imaging support on a PRN (as-needed) basis during weekday shifts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent) with current licensure to practice in the United States.
  • Proven experience operating C-arm fluoroscopy equipment in an operating room or surgical setting.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety principles and infection control standards applicable to surgical environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced operating room environment.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary surgical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certification or training specific to intraoperative imaging or surgical radiology.
  • Experience working in a hospital operating room setting with diverse surgical specialties.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems for documentation purposes.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a PRN role.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain C-arm fluoroscopy equipment to provide real-time imaging during surgical procedures.
  • Position patients and imaging equipment accurately to capture optimal diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to anticipate imaging needs and adjust techniques accordingly.
  • Adhere strictly to radiation safety standards and infection control protocols to protect patients and staff.
  • Perform routine equipment checks, troubleshoot technical issues, and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed.
  • Document imaging procedures and maintain accurate records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Respond promptly to PRN weekday assignments, demonstrating flexibility and reliability in scheduling.

Skills:

The required skills enable the technician to operate complex imaging equipment with precision, ensuring that surgeons receive clear and accurate images critical for patient care. Effective communication skills facilitate seamless coordination with surgical teams, allowing for quick adjustments during procedures. Knowledge of radiation safety is applied daily to minimize exposure risks, protecting both patients and staff. Technical troubleshooting skills ensure that any equipment malfunctions are promptly addressed to avoid delays in surgery. Preferred skills, such as familiarity with EMR systems and additional certifications, enhance the technician's ability to document procedures accurately and contribute to a higher standard of intraoperative imaging support.
