About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Acute Care (MedSurg) Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty License: Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS Must-Have: Experience in acute care Description: Unit has a strict 75-mile radius requirement for applicants. Minimum of 2 years of experience in the specialty is required. The unit has 44 beds and 40 staff members. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5, possibly 1:6 for both days and nights. Electronic Medical Record system used is Meditech; experience preferred but not required. Certified Nursing Assistants are available with a ratio of 1:8, generally 1:10. Weekend work is required every other week, and holidays are as needed. Scrubs are Caribbean Blue. Floating may occur to other acute care units. General orientation is one week, with two days of floor-specific orientation. The population is approximately 80,000, with surrounding major cities nearby. Housing options include multiple gated and safe communities with regular availability. Hotel accommodations are available for travelers in the area. A cancellation policy is in place requiring 12 hours' notice every two weeks. Experience with the required certifications is essential. This nursing position involves working in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment.
