Senior Roadway Engineer

Overview

AtkinsRéalis seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Atlanta, Georgia office team as a Senior Roadway Engineer working on various Highway and Roadway projects.

Your role

• Assist in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings. May supervise the production of these drawings. Execute assignments in preparing and assembling specifications.
• Participate in conducting engineering investigations and planning work. These tasks may include collection and analysis of data using established procedures, performance of routine calculations, and participation in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.
• Prepare assigned sections of reports working under the close review of a more experienced professional.
• Participate on projects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance to specifications; assist in recordkeeping and generating progress reports; observe construction procedures and collect samples for quality control testing.
• Perform data acquisition and analysis, research the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
• Prepare material for reports and permit applications, gather information, draft outlines, prepare work progression documents and graphic presentations.

• SR 316 at Hi-Hope Road Interchange (GDOT)
• SR 60 over Chattahoochee River (GDOT)
• SR 4 Ware County Grade Separation with Norfolk Southern (GDOT)
• Cobb County Department of Transportation Program Management (Cobb County GA)
• City of Atlanta DOT Program Management (Atlanta, GA)

Notable projects nationals are as follows:

• I-15 Tropicana Interchange, Las Vegas Nevada (NDOT)
• SR 414 - Elevated toll expressway from Orange Blossom Trail to SR 434, Orlando FL (Central Florida Expressway Authority)
• Loop 1604 in San Antonio, Schematic/Environmental (TXDOT)
• I-20 Abilene, Schematic/Environmental (TXDOT)
• US90A Houston, PS&E (TXDOT)

About you

• BS and/or MS in Engineering.
• 10+ years of engineering experience.
• Must have highway/roadway design.
• Excellent technical and interpersonal skills.
• Strong team management skills
• DOT experience required, GDOT preferred.
• Georgia PE required or ability to obtain through reciprocity
• Proficiency in MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D recommended but not required.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $155,000-$185,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
