The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of our accounting department. This role is a permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our financial growth and stability. The Accounting Manager will be a key player in establishing policies, procedures, and internal controls, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reports. Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all general ledger activities.
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports to support decision-making processes.
- Conduct monthly and annual close processes, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Manage and maintain real estate accounting, project accounting, and revenue recognition.
- Oversee and manage the preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
- Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting processes and operations.
- Utilize NetSuite and Yardi systems for financial management tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting.
- Develop and implement improvements to the existing accounting systems and processes.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the accounting team.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of Financial Reporting, General Ledger, Real Estate Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Proficiency in NetSuite and Yardi systems.
- Proven experience with accounting operations, including the monthly close process and journal entries.
- Demonstrated ability to establish policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Solid understanding of project accounting.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
