Lead Dental Surgical Assistant

Snodental is seeking an experienced Lead Dental Surgical Assistant to help lead our growing surgical department across our Brookhaven and East Cobb locations.
This is more than a traditional assisting position. We're looking for someone who thrives in the operatory, takes ownership of clinical operations, and enjoys ensuring everything behind the scenes runs efficiently. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and passionate about delivering an exceptional patient experience while supporting a fast-paced surgical practice.
Responsibilities
Surgical Assisting
- Assist with complex oral surgery and implant procedures
- Prepare and break down operatories efficiently
- Maintain strict surgical sterility and infection control protocols
- Anticipate the doctor's needs throughout procedures
- Ensure all surgical equipment is properly maintained and ready for use
- Support an exceptional patient experience before, during, and after treatment
Inventory & Supply Management
- Manage inventory for both Brookhaven and East Cobb offices
- Maintain appropriate stock levels for surgical and general clinical supplies
- Place supply and implant orders with vendors
- Track usage and identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency
- Organize storage areas and maintain accurate inventory systems
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs as needed
Leadership
- Help establish and maintain clinical systems and protocols
- Train and mentor team members on surgical procedures and workflows
- Ensure consistency between both office locations
- Communicate effectively with doctors, management, and vendors
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and organization
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 3 years of dental assisting experience
- Significant experience assisting with oral surgery and implant procedures
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong understanding of surgical instrumentation and sterilization
- Ability to independently manage inventory and supply ordering
- Comfortable using dental practice management software
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between Brookhaven and East Cobb offices
Preferred
- Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) certification
- Experience with IV sedation cases
- Experience managing clinical inventory across multiple locations
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience with CBCT and digital dentistry
