Job Title: Garage Attendant
Manager: Director of Fleet Operations
Direct Reports: Al Burruss
Other Key Team / Positions: Live Dock, Shipping Dock and Grounds Attendant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-Trip heavy duty tractors and trailers.
- Perform basic Maintenance on Tractors and trailers
(Oil changes, replacing lights or filters
- Use safety equipment: Eye glasses, cutting tool guards, jack stands, latters, etc..
- Help in other areas or departments as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to walk, climb, and move in tight spaces; frequently required to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, and controls
- must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- must be able to lift and move heavy components while in tight
- work around moderate noise level
- Can work outside in summer heat and winter cold.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to read and write in English
- Communication skills
- knowledge of all types of vehicles and equipment
- Mechanical abilities for all vehicle components and systems
- Electrical abilities for all vehicle components and systems
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of safety precautions required while operating cutting tools, drilling, lifting, and welding.
