Kid’s Ministry Director

Status: Full time
Hours: As dictated to accomplish the responsibilities and duties of the position, an as agreed to
by the Senior Pastor and the Personnel Committee. Position reports to: Senior Pastor
Direct Reports: Kid’s Ministry summer intern and paid nursery workers

It is expected that all employees will be professing Christians who support the vision of Eastern Heights Baptist Church. It is also expected that each employee will fully recognize and uphold the right of all church members to expect absolute confidentiality as this regards any information the employee may obtain concerning the interaction between the church and any individual in their financial and personal lives.

Job description: The principal function of the Eastern Heights Baptist Church Kid’s Ministry Director is to
plan, develop, promote, coordinate and lead the children’s ministry of the church to the glory of God.

Overview of Duties/Responsibilities:
The Kid’s Ministry Director shall be responsible to:
 Create, develop and implement programs and ministry for children ages birth – 5th grade;
 Develop an appropriate curriculum(s) as needed to enhance the development of program participants and their families;
 Assist EHBC to create an environment that will facilitate learning and encourage spiritual growth;
 Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers participating in Kid’s Ministry programs;
 Recruit, train, and coordinate paid workers participating in Kid’s Ministry programs in conjunction with the Personnel Committee;
 Develop and maintain a strategy for reaching and assimilating new children and families.
 Coordinate children’s special events including but not limited to VBS, Fall Festival, Baby Dedications etc.
 It is understood that all staff will assist, as a team, in fulfilling the ministries of the church.

Knowledge/Skill/Experience Required:
 Reveals, by life, a true conversion experience;
 Love for children and families;
 Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills;
 Ability to recruit, train and lead volunteer teams;
 Experienced in the development of programs targeting the enhancement of children;
 Interacts well with the families of the children participating in the Kid’s Ministry;
 Has education and/or commensurate experience for the various duties of this position;
 Has a reputation of keeping confidences.

Continuing Education Requirements: None but attending workshops, seminars, and other such activities
relating to children’s ministries is encouraged.
