Import Operations Specialist - Global Freight Forwarding (Morrow)

A global logistics company is seeking an Import Operations Specialist near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. This is a great opportunity for entry-level candidates looking to start their careers. This is a full-time, non-exempt contract position with benefits, including insurance and PTO.

Responsibilities:

• Arrange logistics operations to fulfill contracts with suppliers and customers, ensuring timely execution based on front office instructions and customer requirements
• Act as a liaison between customers and internal front/mid-office teams
• Communicate with U.S. Customs brokers and trucking carriers to ensure smooth logistics operations
• Prepare Bills of Lading (B/L) for local and regional transportation
• Monitor and manage inventory of railcars, trucks, and storage tanks used in distribution operations
• Collaborate with third parties including customers, surveyors, freight forwarders, terminals, and other logistics providers
• Receive pre-alerts from origin offices and send arrival notices to customs brokers
• Assist with monthly and quarterly closing processes, including schedule coordination

Requirements:

• Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field is a plus, but not required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Outlook
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to handle time-sensitive tasks and meet deadlines
• Ability to manage high-volume, multitasking responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working in a multicultural environment
