About the Position

Job Title: Critical Care Float Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Critical Care Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years License: GA or Compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Arterial line management - BiPAP/CPAP management/maintenance - Care of ventilated patients - Central line care/management - Isolation precautions/PPE - Management of dysrhythmias - Starting and maintaining IVs - Suctioning (ETT, NT) - Titrating cardiac drips - Titrating vasoactive drips Description: These positions will be hospital float pool staff. Staff will be expected to float throughout the hospital, including the Emergency Department. Weekend work: every other weekend required. There is no on-call requirement. Floating will be within facility and scope of practice as needed. There are no block schedule requests allowed. If one major holiday falls during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall during the assignment period, working both is expected. If three major holidays fall during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day. Full compliance is required to start on time. If not compliant in time, there will be a push back of two weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedules. Local candidates are accepted at the same rate. Compliance-related documents must be submitted on schedule.
