Job Title: Food Services Cook
Job Summary: Food Services Cooks are responsible for the preparation and presentation of high-quality food items to ensure an exceptional dining experience for our guests. This position requires keen attention to detail, strong culinary skills, and a commitment to upholding food safety standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items in accordance with established recipes and standards.
- Ensure that all dishes are cooked to perfection and presented attractively to meet our guests' expectations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items and regular cleaning of cooking equipment.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors of any shortages or discrepancies.
- Adhere to food safety standards and regulations to prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure the safety of our guests and team members.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to develop new menu items and recipes, keeping our offerings fresh and exciting.
- Provide excellent customer service by accommodating special dietary requests and preferences and addressing guest concerns or complaints in a professional manner.
Education & Experience:
- Must be at least 16+ years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of food service experience in a similar role.
- ServSafe Certification (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong culinary skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Basic understanding of food safety principles and sanitation procedures.
- Effective communication skills to interact with kitchen staff and guests.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Tolerance for high temperatures in the kitchen environment.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions and elements including the direct sunlight with no shade, cold, rain, etc.
- Varying work hours extending up to twelve (12) hour workdays under some circumstances.
Safety Expectations:
- Promote and practice safe work practices at all times.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
- Adhere to company, state and federal safety standards and regulations.
- Adhere to State of Georgia Health Code requirements at all times.
