We are seeking a seasoned IT Architect for a long-term contract opportunity with a leading client based in Atlanta, GA. This hybrid role is ideal for candidates local to the area who bring strong leadership, deep technical acumen, and a passion for building enterprise-grade IT systems.

Position Summary

The IT Architect will lead architecture planning and oversee technical implementation across diverse platforms. The role includes guiding teams, managing stakeholder expectations, and ensuring the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide the work of subordinate technical staff.

• Plan and schedule team assignments, track progress, and provide regular status updates.

• Analyze project requirements and develop work plans accordingly.

• Lead discovery, design, and architecture sessions.

• Serve as a technical liaison between internal teams and third-party vendors.

• Oversee system integration efforts and coordinate across IT and business stakeholders.

• Ensure architectural alignment with enterprise goals and industry standards.

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design through deployment.

• Develop project schedules and assign responsibilities where applicable.

Required Technical Expertise

• Software Development: Strong knowledge of software engineering principles and methodologies.

• Programming Languages: Proficiency in multiple languages (e.g., Java, Python, .NET).

• Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Database Systems: Skilled in database design, data modeling, and performance optimization.

• DevOps & CI/CD: Understanding of modern DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

• Security: Expertise in designing secure systems and applying cybersecurity best practices.

• Architecture Patterns: Familiarity with microservices, monolithic, client-server, and distributed systems.

• Automation & Testing: Experience with test automation tools and practices.

• Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior staff.

• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years of professional experience in system architecture, software design, and enterprise IT environments.
