Field Talent Manager
The Field Talent Manager (FTM) is aligned to the National Project Director (NPD) in close collaboration with the field sales leadership team (Sales Director and District Sales Managers) to drive achievement of key business objectives, specific to contract requirements. This position supports all aspects of interviewing and hiring, aligning strategic perspectives, coaching core behaviors, field ridealongs, financial and administrative oversight, and all aspects of employment including performance management solutions.
Communications:
- Maintain consistent and open communication with internal Syneos Health teams and client leadership
- Drive Syneos Health connectivity with field personnel
- Serve as point of contact for field personnel on Syneos Health corporate matters
- Assist with employee development and recognition programs
Retention/Engagement:
- Cultivate an environment of open communication where employee contributions are valued and considered an integral part of the organization
- Have full understanding of all incentive compensation plans
Operational Oversight/Driving Best Practices:
- Coordinate field-based launch planning activities across sales team collaborating with customer and Syneos’ launch team ensuring consistent and timely alignment and execution
- Remove barriers to execution and resolve cross-functional issues impacting performance
- Conduct frequent status updates with NPD to share and implement best practices
- Support and document field sales representative performance and appropriately communicate with relevant DSMs, Sales Director, human resources, & representatives
- Assist in communication and compliance of all policy and procedures
- Oversee completion of all Syneos Health administrative paperwork of field force
- Assist in execution of all aspects of significant contract changes, including size and structure
- Work with NPD and Sales leadership to develop, communicate and monitor team business rules and field sales expectations
Data Management/Reporting:
- Monitor KPIs and performance against goals collaborating with Sales leadership and Strategic Operations partner
- Provide insight into data interpretation to identify proactive solutions
Performance Management
- Collaborate with NPD, Sales Director, DSMs and Human Resources business partner on mid-year and annual performance review process and document creation for use with field personnel
- Deliver feedback and coach representatives, as appropriate, including verbal and/or written feedback to representatives
- Review written coaching feedback to identify potential performance issues, consult with NPD and Field Sales Leadership
- Consult with NPD and Human Resources business partner on all performance issues
- Review documentation and provide Performance Improvement Plan recommendations, participate in delivery of performance plans, as necessary
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Administration or Human Resources Management
- Minimum 5-7 years minimum Pharmaceutical Sales Management experience or 4 years minimum Human Resources Management experience with a strong focus in Employee Relations, Coaching and Recruiting
- Successful track record of recruiting and selecting top talent
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively internally and with clients at all levels of the organization
- Ability to think and plan strategically so that opportunities are seized upon
- High level of initiative, accountability, and ownership for achieving results and surpassing objectives
- Demonstrated team building and leadership skills
- Experience in coaching for performance improvement including implementation of progressive discipline as it relates to sales or other performance objectives
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy and professionalism as well as maintain confidentiality when appropriate
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license with ability and willingness to accommodate overnight travel up to 30%
