Medical-Surgical RN Job Details

• Location: Rockingham, NC 28379 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Community Hospital, 2nd Floor Medical Unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (8/25/2025 – 11/24/2025)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts per week
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1800–$1840
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Unit Size: 44 beds
• EMR: Epic (Epic EMR experience preferred)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (pending license accepted)
• At least 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with Epic EMR strongly preferred
• Must not reside in Richmond or Moore County
• Ability to manage a 1:6 patient ratio
• Completion of pre-employment drug screening and onboarding modules

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses, including diabetes, cardiology, neurology, infectious disease, and post-surgical care
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and perform physician-ordered treatments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams such as physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR
• Participate in remote telemetry surveillance and respond promptly to changes in patient status
• Promote a positive, patient-centered environment and adhere to hospital policies and procedures
