Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This per diem position supports academic, behavioral, and social growth for students in a school setting in Dalton, GA. The role involves providing individualized assistance to students under teacher guidance, helping them succeed through focused support tailored to their unique needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering 1:1 or small group academic, behavioral, and social support
- Assisting students with daily routines, classroom participation, and transitions
- Implementing behavior support plans and following Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Supporting student mobility, supervision, and personal care as needed
- Helping maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Compliance with TB test requirements per district regulations
- Physical capability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when needed
- Current clearances or willingness to obtain them before starting
Preferred Experience:
- Background in school settings, special education, behavioral health, or child care
- Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- Certification or experience as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), CPI, or PMT is a plus
- Demonstrated reliability, patience, and a collaborative approach
