Position Overview:
We are seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer (PE) to join our Atlanta, GA office. This position will play a key role in designing power distribution and control systems for a variety of architectural and municipal projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a proactive mindset, and experience leading project design efforts through all phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the electrical design and documentation process for architectural and municipal projects.
- Participate in project pursuits, design review meetings, and client coordination.
- Prepare construction documents including drawings, one-lines, panel schedules, riser diagrams, and specifications.
- Perform assessments of existing electrical systems and recommend upgrades.
- Generate and evaluate design options early in the project development process.
- Provide technical oversight and coordinate with clients, staff, and consultants across disciplines.
- Perform site observations, review shop drawings, and support construction administration tasks.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical codes (NEC, NFPA, etc.) and energy standards.
- Coordinate with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams.
- Utilize AutoCAD for drafting and documentation (Revit experience is a plus).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (Georgia or ability to obtain via reciprocity).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design for municipal and/or architectural projects.
- Experience with power distribution , controls , and Motor Control Center (MCC) design.
- Proficient in AutoCAD (Revit a strong plus).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Capable of managing work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Strong knowledge of building and energy codes.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior design experience with K-12 school , water/wastewater , or public infrastructure projects.
- Experience with lighting and photometric design.
- Familiarity with construction phase services, including RFIs and submittal reviews.
