Position Summary:
The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing staff, and driving sales growth. This role is vital in maintaining the smooth and efficient operation of the store while upholding the values and standards of Matt's Warehouse Deals. The Assistant Store Manager will be a proactive leader who can step in as the manager when needed, helping to set goals, monitor performance, and keep the store running at its best.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in managing all aspects of store operations, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and store maintenance.- Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service and ensure staff follows company policies to provide an outstanding shopping experience.
- Supervise, train, and develop store staff, providing guidance and motivation to meet sales goals and deliver exceptional service.
- Maintain an organized and visually appealing store environment that aligns with company standards.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, ensuring that the store is meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Assist with scheduling, payroll, and managing labor costs to ensure effective store operations.
- Ensure inventory is accurately tracked and orders are placed when necessary.
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Assist with store openings and closings, including overseeing cash handling and reconciliation procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, health and safety regulations, and local laws.
Qualifications:
Previous retail management experience preferred, with a focus on leadership, operations, and sales performance- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of retail software systems and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- A passion for delivering excellent customer service and achieving business goals.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to perform various tasks that may require bending, stooping, or reaching.
