Position
U.S. Soccer is looking for an Educator Developer – Coach Education Pathway (C to A License) to lead the development and delivery of high-quality coaching education programs. This role is responsible for developing end-to-end curriculum of US Soccer’s C to A Licenses, developing highest quality Coach Educators, and ensuring alignment with the ‘US Way’ methodology. The ideal candidate is an experienced coach, educator, and strategic thinker, committed to raising standards and advancing the game across the country.
This individual will report into the Director of Coaching Education and work closely with the Coaching Education Technical and Operational team members, Sporting Technical Leaders, and Coach Educators to drive innovation, consistency, and excellent in U.S. Soccer’s Coaching Education Pathway.
Primary Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development: Design, develop, and manage course curriculum for US Soccer’s C to A Licenses, ensuring content is modern, evidence-based, and aligned with best practices in coaching education.
- Coach Educator Development: Train, mentor, and evaluate Coach Educators through structured workshops, assessments, and ongoing professional development.
- Quality Assurance & Delivery: Maintain high educational standards across both online and in-person course formats through Educator training, course evaluations, and collaboration with the Coach Education department.
- Methodology Alignment: Work closely with the Sporting Department to ensure course content reflects the "US Way," fostering a cohesive methodology across all levels.
- Innovation and Integration: Incorporate learning technologies, adult learning principles, and data-driven insights to enhance learner experience and program impact.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Coaching Certification: Minimum US Soccer A License required
- Education: Master’s degree in one of the following fields: Sporting Coaching, Sport Management (with Coaching Focus), High-Performance Coaching or Sport Science, or Education (Coaching or Adult Learning Focus)
- Coaching & Leadership Experience: Minimum of 10 years in coaching and/or technical leadership within a Federation or Club
- Expertise Areas: Deep understanding of player development, training methodology, and performance analysis
- Project & Team Management: Experience in project management, leading staff, and making strategic decisions
- Big-Picture Thinking: Ability to connect micro-level details with the broader vision and mission of US Soccer’s coaching education initiatives
- Technology Proficiency: Experience with learning management systems (LMS), performance analysis software, and digital course content development tools
- Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments
- Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
- General knowledge of soccer
