Jacobs has an opportunity for a Land Acquisition Agent to join our team working on behalf of Cobb County Water System (CCWS). This position is collocated with the CCWS team at their offices in Marietta, GA. The successful candidate will work with two other land acquisition professionals as part of the larger Jacobs team supporting this important program. The position offers the opportunity to engage with a wide range of community members and professionals including property owners, banks/mortgage companies, attorneys, team members, and office staff.

Duties/Requirements:

• Acquire sanitary sewer, water and storm drainage easements on behalf of Cobb County Water System (CCWS) at their location in Marietta, Georgia with a team of two Jacobs employees.

• Prepare easement forms and all related paperwork/documents. Must have good writing skills.

• Good interpersonal skills for contacting and corresponding with property owners. Arrange and conduct site visits on a regular basis. After passing required company classes, company van and/or truck is available for site visits.

• Understand and review plans, plats and appraisal reports.

• Research and analyze easement and title information at the courthouse and online databases.

• Basic knowledge of Real Estate Laws/Values.

• Calculating compensation of easement value for property owners based on the given formulas.

• Keep daily negotiation notes with file updates for each parcel.

• Update weekly status reports.

Here's what you'll need

• Degree from an accredited college or university

• One to ten years of land acquisition experience with a strong preference for easement acquisition and/or right-of-way experience.

• Prefer some knowledge of sanitary sewer, water and storm water matters but not required.

• Must be able to pass MVR

60,000.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

80,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $60,000.00 to $80,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
