We are currently seeking an experienced Hands-on, Automation Engineering Manager to lead teams, as well as the design, implementation, and optimization of automated systems across production environments. This role drives efficiency, reduces downtime, and enhances productivity through strategic automation initiatives and will have direct supervision responsibility over Automation and Controls Engineers as well as process Engineers.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following on a day to day basis:

• Lead technical development and deployment of automation solutions
• Identify and execute cost-effective process improvements
• Collaborate cross-functionally with production, IT, maintenance, and quality teams
• Manage engineering staff, including hiring, mentoring, and resource planning
• Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables from concept to completion
• Monitor and troubleshoot automated systems to ensure optimal performance

Ideally qualified engineering leaders will bring as much of the following to the role/table:

• Proven experience in automation engineering and team management
• Hands-on Engineering experience with Automation Controls, Industrial Controls, Programming PLCs such as Siemens, Allen Bradley, RSLOGIX, Rockwell Automation products, etc.
• Experience in a HIGH VOLUME, HIGHLY AUTOMATED, manufacturing setting is a must.
• Experience working in a FOOD MANUFACTURING, or FMCG/CPG product production setting is desired.
• Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
• A lean manufacturing, Continuous Improvement mindset, and an ability to identify and implement process optimization changes would be also HIGH DESIRED.
• An ENGINEERING DEGREE is highly desired, either an Associates, or a Bachelor's.
• Familiarity with industry standards and safety compliance
• Ability to analyze system performance and implement improvements.
