Howell's Kitchen and Bar is Looking for Hosts to Join Our Team!

We’re an eclectic American tavern in the Underhills neighborhood of Atlanta, serving modern takes on the classics you know and love. Craftsmanship and service are at the heart of our bar and scratch kitchen—come in for food, drinks, bocce ball, and a spacious patio!

The ideal candidate is a dedicated worker and a self-starter who maintains a strong work ethic. We are looking for someone with essential qualities such as being helpful, kind, fun to be around, and obsessed with providing excellent service to our guests.

As the Host, you will be the first and last impression of the restaurant. Our team works hard, supports one another, and prioritizes taking care of our guests. We strive daily to create a fun and safe atmosphere while delivering an exceptional dining experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

Looking for Open Availability - Tuesdays and Weekends a Must!

$15 an hour based on Experience

Job Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

• Follow the Steps of Service and Host with Mostess Guidelines.
• Greet incoming and departing guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact
• Be able to carry on natural conversations with Guests without sounding scripted or intrusive.
• Thank the guests when leaving and invite them to come back to see us soon.
• Understand and operate the wait systems and inform Guests of their wait time.
• Monitor the waiting list, alert guests when tables are ready then show them to their table
• Use visual cues to seat guests in either the bar or dining area depending on their preference and escort them to the assigned dining area; present menus; announce server/bartender name.
• Inform Guests of current specials/promotions and who will be serving = smooth handoff
• Answer incoming calls to the restaurant and provide appropriate service. May also need to fill to-go orders when needed.
• Tend to special guest needs and requests
• Care for our guests by refilling beverages and performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning glasses and menus and ensuring restrooms are clean, stocked, and orderly.
• Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol awareness policies
• Help dining room staff by setting and clearing tables; and replenishing beverages when requested.
• Assist with guiding guests to-go pick-up areas.
• Perform side duties and daily and weekly cleaning tasks as directed by management
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently = dress code followed
• Promptly address customer service issues and refer to management when necessary
