Job Description
The Production Team Lead oversees a team of assembly line operators in a modern manufacturing facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role assigns and supervises daily activities, supports cross-training, and works hands-on on the line as needed to meet production targets and maintain quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Assign daily activities to production team members and rotate operator positions to support cross-training and ergonomics.
- Supervise the assembly line team and provide hands-on assistance or backfill operator positions in the event of absences.
- Assist management with personnel scheduling to ensure adequate coverage across shifts and workstations.
- Train and develop team members, including onboarding and training new hires on assembly line tasks and procedures.
- Coach and develop existing team members to improve performance, efficiency, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Support management with personnel evaluations and disciplinary actions by providing performance input and observations.
- Promote a strong safety culture by reinforcing safety protocols and ensuring team members wear appropriate safety gear.
- Maintain and enforce quality standards, ensuring all assembled products meet specifications and customer requirements.
- Help rerun parts as needed to correct issues and maintain product quality.
- Verify that final product labeling is accurate and compliant with requirements.
- Ensure production targets and deadlines are met by monitoring workflow and adjusting resources as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, coordinating with maintenance, management, and engineering to repair or adjust equipment.
- Independently resolve minor equipment or process problems to minimize downtime.
- Bring parts to the line when the Parts Coordinator is unavailable to keep production running smoothly.
- Perform assembly line tasks as directed by the supervisor, including operating and maintaining machinery and tools.
- Ensure products are assembled correctly, consistently, and in accordance with established quality standards.
- Inspect assembled products for faults or defects and take appropriate action to address quality concerns.
- Keep the assembly line clean, organized, and free of hazards to support safe and efficient operations.
- Report any issues or problems with the assembly line, equipment, or processes to the supervisor promptly.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the assembly line team to achieve production goals.
- Continuously improve skills and knowledge of assembly line processes, equipment, and best practices.
- Load product pieces slated for assembly onto the line and pack assembled products into boxes as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support production, safety, and quality objectives.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience leading a production or assembly team of approximately 10–12 people.
- Hands-on experience in a production, manufacturing, or assembly environment.
- Ability to supervise daily activities and coordinate schedules to meet production targets.
- Strong capability to train, coach, and develop team members at various skill levels.
- Solid understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing setting and commitment to enforcing them.
- Knowledge of quality standards and procedures for inspecting and verifying assembled products.
- Competence in operating and maintaining assembly line machinery and tools.
- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot minor equipment and process issues independently.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with maintenance, management, and engineering teams.
- Organizational skills to keep work areas clean, orderly, and compliant with safety and quality requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in automotive manufacturing or assembly is highly beneficial.
- Experience in cross-training team members across multiple workstations.
- Familiarity with labeling requirements and product packaging processes.
- Ability to work an afternoon/evening shift and meet production deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for providing feedback, reporting issues, and supporting evaluations.
- Interest in continuous learning and improving knowledge of production and assembly processes.

Work Environment
The role is based inside a newer, modern manufacturing facility in the automotive sector. Work is performed on an assembly line with production, manufacturing, and assembly equipment, requiring attention to safety protocols and consistent use of appropriate safety gear. The environment is fast-paced and team-oriented, with a focus on meeting production targets while maintaining high quality standards. This position works on B shift from 4:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., requiring comfort with extended evening hours in an indoor industrial setting.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Bloomingdale, GA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48880.00 - $48880.00/yr.
