Position Summary

The Bar Support Machine Operator is responsible for operating assigned industrial machinery safely and efficiently, ensuring production requirements are consistently met. This role includes performing routine operator maintenance (OMP) and maintaining a safe, clean work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate assigned machines, including bar support machines, resistance welding machines, brake presses, and mechanical power presses.

• Complete OMP (Operator Maintenance Program) for assigned machine(s) within 90 days of employment.

• Consistently meet established production goals and quality standards.

• Identify and correct unsafe or defective products.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

• Accurately complete documentation such as process monitors and production tickets.

• Follow all safety procedures and use required protective equipment.

• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Minimum of 1 year of related industrial machine experience.

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

• Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written).

• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, counting, and use of a tape measure.

• Ability to read and follow all safety and operating procedures.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and climb ladders/equipment.

• Must be able to carry and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted (average lifts under 50 lbs).

• Must have the physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment.

• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.

• Noise level ranges from moderate to loud; hearing protection required.

• Safety shoes, eye protection, and PPE are mandatory.

• Work environment temperatures may range from 0&degree;F to 110&degree;F.
