Job Summary
Perform entry level support activities within an Institute laboratory to include routine tests and examinations, providing assistance in experiment setup and recording data. Performs routine duties associated with animal care in a research setting. Prepares food and feeds animals, cleans caging and housing accessories, maintains sanitary conditions throughout facility, and observes and records environmental conditions, animal health and behavior. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: faculty, staff and students. This position typically will advise and counsel: NA. This position will supervise: NA.

Required Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent AND one year of animal husbandry/care experience OR two years of animal husbandry experience in a laboratory animal facility OR certification as Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT). LAT and LATG certifications and additional education can fulfill requirements on a per case basis. The ability to lift 50 pounds and push/pull heavy loads. Positions in this classification may require a valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
SKILLS This job requires basic science background and basic knowledge of laboratory test procedures and equipment usage.

Salary will commensurate with experience and education
