Head Start Lead Teacher 3-5

- Design, plan, and implement the classroom program and daily activities. Write weekly lesson plans and appropriate IEPs.
- Prepare and plan teaching materials to be utilized
- Maintain a safe and orderly environment
- Supervise activities for all children throughout the entire day.
- Monitor and evaluate each child’s physical, social, and emotional developmental domains and make referrals when necessary.
- Maintain current, up-to-date records of each child’s development
- Plan, Implement and Document adequate educational home visits with parents twice a year for each child in the group
- Work cooperatively with the Assistant Teacher to plan, coordinate, and implement the education plan.
- Plan and carry out room arrangements, curriculum, lesson plans, and enrichment activities for each child’s development.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Ga PDS account with a Career Level of 8 or higher
- Thorough knowledge of preschool children’s stages and levels of development
- At least three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience with children three (3) to five (5) years of age.
- Knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practices
- Ability to effectively plan and coordinate classroom activities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to meet deadlines
- Must be able to interact effectively with both individuals and groups
- Strong organizational skills, computer, internet, and email proficiency
