Dermatology Practice in need of a Certified Medical Assistant for immediate hire. We are looking for someone who is friendly, professional, compassionate, self motivated, flexible, and a team player.
Job Type: Full-time or Part-time
Preferred experience: Medical Assistant: 1-2 years
Preferred Certifications: Medical Assistant Certification
Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
- Interview patients to obtain a detailed history and list of medications
- Assist in the examination and treatment of patients
- Record details of office visit into patients' electronic medical record
- Provide patient education resources
- Draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab
- Prepare exam rooms for patients
- Assist with biopsies, surgeries, and cosmetic procedures including set-up, clean-up, patient prep, and documentation in electronic medical record
- Call patients with lab/path results
- Phone in or E-prescribe prescriptions and refills
- Handle prior authorizations in a timely and efficient manner
- Keep exam rooms stocked with needed supplies; order supplies as needed
- Perform general housekeeping duties
Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma Required; Associate Degree preferred
- Medical Assistant Certification (CMA/RMA)
- 1-2 years' experience as Medical Assistant
- Excellent communication skills, Adaptability, Multi-Tasking, Customer Service, Telephone Etiquette, Time Management, Organization, Detailed Oriented
