Controller – Family Office (Atlanta area)

The Connexa Search Group is recruiting for a Controller to join a private family office located in the Atlanta area. This position will oversee the full accounting cycle for the family's various holdings, entities, and investments. The role is hands-on and includes responsibility for all accounting functions, including general ledger management, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and payables.

Salary depends on experience: $130k to $175k. There is possibility of this being a part time position if desired, roughly 30 hours a week.

The Controller will also work closely with the family's external CPA firm on tax filings, audits, and compliance-related matters. This is a low-volume environment that values accuracy, organization, and discretion. The position can accommodate a hybrid schedule for the right person.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of full-cycle accounting for multiple entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.

• Prepare internal financial reports and statements for family entities and trusts.

• Oversee accounts payable, expense tracking, and cash management.

• Coordinate with external CPA firm for annual tax filings and audit support.

• Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc reporting as needed.

• Support documentation and recordkeeping for investment and partnership activities.

• Handle confidential financial information with the highest level of discretion.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred but not required.

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably including time in public accounting (audit or tax).

• Experience with closely held businesses, partnerships, or family office environments is beneficial.

• Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and GAAP principles.

• Proficiency with accounting software and Excel.

• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently.
