Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced backend engineer to join our Middle Office Core Platform Organization. This team is responsible for systems, services, and initiatives that provide financial products to customers across digital channels. The organization focuses on building financial products, platform capabilities, and components used by millions of customers daily. As a backend engineer, you will drive product development and modernization initiatives, leveraging your expertise in tools and technologies to build products that deliver business outcomes and enhance customer experiences. You will design and program modules or components and contribute to the development of features and functionalities.

Responsibilities:

• Engage in technical discussions, participate in designs, and present ideas through whiteboarding.
• Collaborate with peers in a fast-paced technical design and development environment.
• Execute tasks in a fast-paced delivery mode to meet product release goals.
• Maintain code quality through best practices, unit testing, and automation.
• Understand the entire product, its modules, and their interrelationships while being an expert in assigned components or modules.
• Design interfaces and information exchange between modules.
• Demonstrate advanced domain knowledge and customer focus.
• Expertise in processes, methodologies, and build, release, and deployment processes.
• Articulate the need for scalability and improve quality through testing.
• Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using selected technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or STEM majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
• 7-15 years of relevant professional experience, or 5 years with a master's degree, or 2 years with a PhD.

Desired Characteristics:

• Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Design Patterns, and coding principles.
• Hands-on experience in microservices architecture and development, and databases such as Oracle, MySQL, Sybase, PostgreSQL, etc.
• 7-15 years of experience in Java.
• Preferred experience in ServiceMesh, Containers, and Kubernetes technologies.
• Experience in building cloud-based software leveraging cloud and open-source technologies and frameworks.
• Expertise in building scalable and highly available distributed systems.
• Experience in assessing application performance and optimizing it through design and best coding practices.
• Proficiency in core data structures and algorithms, with the ability to implement them using the language of choice.
• Preferred understanding and experience in public cloud services (AWS, Azure).
• Experience in agile software development.

• Advocates for how technology solves customer problems from both technical and business perspectives.

Pay Range: $70- $80.00

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
