About This Role
As a key member of our educational team, the Teacher is accountable for leading a cohesive teaching team, designing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum, and managing the operational aspects of the classroom. To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate must possess a deep understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, enabling them to create a stimulating and safe learning environment where children thrive and succeed. The Teacher must be an effective communicator, capable of interacting with children and adults alike to meet the needs of our children, guide teacher assistants, and address parental concerns.
What You'll Do- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate educational programs and activities that foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, serving as a role model and mentor for teacher assistants and classroom volunteers.
- Design and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities to promote socialization, creativity, and emotional intelligence in children.
- Maintain open and regular communication with parents, including informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Ensure compliance with center policies and state regulations, maintaining a safe and healthy classroom environment.
- Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers, ensuring they adhere to planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Manage and maintain accurate records, forms, and files, while prioritizing ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills.
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
