Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to match receiving documents to invoices, verify invoices, and post invoices into the payables system by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities

• Verifies and posts details of invoices in the payables systems
• Compiles, sorts and matches receiving documents to invoices
• Troubleshoots and investigates invoice problems with vendors or purchasing agents
• Prepares and cuts checks and reviews for accuracy

• Ensures vendors are properly setup in the master vendor database

• Follows procedures for Vendor payment instructions

• Completes annual 1099's

• Monitors cash discounts and reporting

• Supports the accounting department by performing core tasks such as data entry, posting journal entries, and assisting with audit preparation

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus 1 - 2 years of experience in a fast paced office environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
