Assistant Commercial Construction Superintendent

Position Overview
The Assistant Commercial Construction Superintendent will support the Superintendent in overseeing day-to-day field operations on commercial construction projects. This role ensures work is performed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Assistant Superintendent will coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and field staff to maintain efficient job site operations and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent in managing all on-site construction activities.
• Monitor job site safety and enforce company and OSHA safety standards.
• Coordinate daily work activities with subcontractors, suppliers, and field crews.
• Track project schedules, report progress, and help identify potential delays or issues.
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets project specifications and drawings.
• Maintain accurate job site documentation, including daily reports, logs, and safety records.
• Support material deliveries, inventory tracking, and equipment coordination.
• Foster positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, inspectors, and project team members.
• Participate in project meetings and communicate updates to the Superintendent and Project Manager.
• Assist with punch list completion and project closeout activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in construction management, or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of construction processes, means, and methods, including safety regulations and quality control.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Highly organized with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Builder trend, PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Certification in OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR.

Work Environment

• Job site-based position requires daily presence in the field.
• May require working extended hours or weekends depending on project needs.
