POSITION: Controller

POSITION REPORTS TO: COO

POSITION PURPOSE

The Controller is responsible for managing the Finance and Accounting functions of the company. The job will entail compiling and providing accurate financial information about the company activities that will assist management in making educated decisions about the company's future.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

● Oversee the activities of the Finance Department for the accurate and timely recording and reporting of all transactions in the QuickBooks Accounting software. QuickBooks Accounting software proficiency is required.

● Oversee and ensure accuracy of the daily sales, purchasing, electronic funds transfer recording, including wires. Enhance and implement any required procedures to ensure the timely furnishing of all documentation needed to evidence the business purpose of these transactions.

● Build, develop, train, and manage Accounting team to enhance the carrying out of needed functions and initiatives, ensuring optimal performance.

● Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for the Finance Administrator, focusing on accounting principles, financial reporting, and relevant software.

● Assess training needs, conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identity areas for improvement. In addition, contribute to the development and implementation of company financial policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and efficiency.

● Oversee the activities and recording of the disbursement and accounts receivable functions.

● Work directly with the Operational/Financial Manager of our wholly owned foreign subsidiary to provide direction and oversee financial reporting. This includes the monthly reports required to track intercompany transfers of inventory, shared costs, local receivables and payables, and other related transactions. All information provided verified and then entered into the related company’s QuickBooks records.

● Perform monthly and end of month required adjusting journal entries to accurately reflect sales, inventory, receivables, payables, payroll, and other liabilities. This involves the monthly maintenance of GL account analysis.

● Perform all bank and credit card reconciliations, and drafting all corrections and performing required follow-up.

● Tax compliance and reporting, as needed, under the direction of and in conjunction with the manager of our Sales, Use, and other State and Local tax and regulation requirements.

● Yearly business license renewal, personal property tax reporting, and other legal and business environment reporting.

● Respond to government and other regulatory body enquiries.

● Issue monthly financial reporting Packet, including consolidated and comparative reporting, with any appropriate analysis, to management.

● Stay abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance for the accounting functions with GAAP and regulations.

● Enhance financial reporting systems and controls to ensure compliance with company expenditure requirements and to meet customer needs

● Oversee the yearly external CPA Review and/or Audit, in compliance with GAAP standards.

● Ensures that the Company’s professional reputation is maintained as well as appropriate levels of confidentiality regarding Company operations.

● Complete special accounting projects or audits as needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Accounting software.
• Five or more years of experience in progressing Accounting and Financial roles.
• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting (CPA or CMA a plus).
• Experience in a multi-national environment is a plus.
• Full Time (40 hours per week).
• A background check will be conducted.
• This position does not require travel.

COMPENSATION:

Compensation will depend on experience and will be discussed at the time of interview. Salary $65,000-$80,000.00.
