Job Opportunity:

BHSI has an exciting opportunity for a Contractors Equipment (CE), Inland Marine Underwriter to join us in the US based team office. We are flexible as to which BHSI office this role is fulfilled out of, NYC, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles or San Francisco.

We are looking for talented individuals to help grow our portfolio and to work closely with our team as we strive for efficient, accretive growth.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and continue to build the Contractors Equipment line within the Inland Marine book of business, working closely with our CE leader who is based in NYC
  • Establish, develop, and expand broker and customer relationships working independently and in conjunction with other BHSI product lines
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and make quick decisions while maintaining underwriting integrity

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • 2-5+ years P&C insurance underwriting experience
  • Experience with Inland Marine lines and background in Contractors’ Equipment underwriting are strongly preferred
  • Strong existing broker relationships
  • Experience and strong understanding of policy forms, including broker manuscripts and AAIS
  • Experience marketing to specialized brokers
  • Strong collaboration and team building skills
  • Must be entrepreneurial and a self-starter
  • Strong communication skills including advanced negotiation, communications, and presentation experience

The base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $120,000, along with annual bonus eligibility. Total compensation for a candidate is determined by their relevant skills, location, and experience.
